Plane makes emergency landing as passengers get shots of engine blowout

An Air France plane traveling from Paris to Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Canada after an engine blew out Saturday, and passengers tweeting images of the damaged engine.

The Airbus A380 made a safe landing in Goose Bay, New Foundland, scattering debris along the runway, according to CBC. The right engine was missing its cowling, but fire crews were not needed.

As scary as the moment may have been thousands of feet above the ground, in a sign of times, it didn’t stop passengers from getting photos and video of the blowout and tweeting them to the world.
